New beginnings: From Citylife to Houze
Five successful years after helming Citylife Singapore, founder Brien Chua has taken the bold move to replace the company with his own home and lifestyle brand – Houze.
With extensive experience in retail and e-commerce, detailed operational knowledge and commitment to quality, Mr Chua is confident that he and his team will slingshot Houze into a widely recognised brand name in SEA and beyond.
Rebranding from scratch
Mr Chua always believes in the importance of forward-thinking, understanding that growth and success stem from innovation. When he first introduced Citylife to Singapore in 2012, he adopted a distinctive business strategy and branding that deviates from the main company to suit the local market. Since then, Citylife witnessed a sizable growth in sales figures - a 100% increment year on year from 2013 to 2016, propelling the local subsidiary into the fastest-growing household products supplier in Singapore in a just six years.
By moving from Citylife to Houze, Mr Chua and his team embrace the exciting opportunity to roll out fresh concepts and products of a similar quality, if not better. This way, both existing and new customers can expect more value from this shift.
Extensive sales channels and stockists
Besides the accumulation of experience and know-how, the Houze team has previously built an extensive network in South East Asia, with official distributors in Hong Kong and Cambodia, as well as stockists in Australia and South America. Here in Singapore, Houze stock more than a thousand product types and partner with major popular eCommerce platforms such as RedMart, Qoo10, Lazada and Honestbee to cater to increasing online distribution demands.
The Houze team is currently made up of 25 exceptional staff, whom each play a vital role in managing our local office and a 14,000 sq ft warehouse with a “we are one” attitude.
